Your own bird TV

Blue tits and great tits feeding inches from the glass, while you sit with your tea. From the kitchen, the living room or a bedroom window.

Made for small birds

The arch gives songbirds a sheltered seat to feed from. The roof snaps down over 2 litres of seed, so it stays dry in the rain and you refill less often.

“Snap-down lid keeps seed bone-dry during storms.” Bob Vila

A thumb pressing one of the two suction cups and its lock clip

Fitted right, it stays up

The Arch has two large suction cups, and each one has a clip that locks it down against the glass. Two minutes of careful fitting is what makes it hold, in wind and rain.

  1. Clean the glassWarm soapy water, then dry it. Grease and dust are what break a seal.
  2. Warm and dampen the cupsHold them in your hands for a minute, then dampen the pads. Soft cups seal better, especially in winter.
  3. Press flat, then lock the clipsPress each cup flat to push the air out, then click its clip down.
  4. Fit it empty, then fillFill from the top through the roof once it’s on the glass.

Works onSmooth, flat glass: kitchen, living room and bedroom windows, French windows and patio doors.

Not forTextured, patterned or frosted glass, or anything behind a fly screen.

“Because this feeder is heavier than some of the other window bird feeders on this list, it was reassuring to see the suction cups hold fast during high winds and rain.”

Bob Vila, “The Best Window Bird Feeders, Tested”

Stays up, or we make it right

If your Arch won’t stay on your window, email hello@roam-wild.com. We’ll help you fit it and send a replacement suction unit free. Spare parts are available for almost every part, so it’s a feeder you keep for years.

Easy to live with

Filling the feeder from the top with a tube of sunflower hearts

Fills from the top

Lift the roof and pour. 2 litres means fewer trips outside.

The feeding tray sliding out of the base

Tray slides out

The feeding tray comes out for cleaning, with no tools.

Rinsing the feeder under a tap with a bottle brush

Rinses clean

Warm water and a bottle brush. A clean feeder keeps the birds healthy.

Your first few weeks

Birds are wary of anything new, so the first visitors can take a week or two. These three things help.

Start with sunflower hearts

Small birds love them, and there are no husks to drop on the sill.

Pick a window near cover

A tree, hedge or bush nearby gives birds somewhere safe to wait their turn.

Give it time

Keep it topped up. Once the first blue tit finds it, the rest soon follow.

“It took a week before the birds visited but now they are coming regularly.”Roisin, verified customer

Frequently asked questions

How does it stay on the window?

With two large suction cups, each with a built-in vacuum clip that locks it to the glass. Clean the glass with warm soapy water and dry it, warm the cups in your hands and dampen the pads, press each cup flat, then lock its clip down. Fit it empty, then fill it. If it ever won’t hold, email hello@roam-wild.com and we’ll help, and send a replacement suction unit free.

Will it hold in winter?

Yes, when it’s fitted on clean, dry glass. Cold makes suction cups stiffer, so warm them in your hands before you fit them, and press them firmly. It’s worth checking the clips after a hard frost.

Which windows does it fit?

Any smooth, flat glass: kitchen, living room and bedroom windows, French windows and patio doors. It won’t hold on textured, patterned or frosted glass, and it needs to be on the outside of the glass, not behind a fly screen.

Is it squirrel proof?

Not on its own. Squirrels are good jumpers, so fit it in the middle of a pane, well away from sills, ledges, fences and branches they could leap from. Our clip-on cage for the Arch is out of stock for now.

How long until birds visit?

Birds are wary of anything new, so it can take a week or two. Fill it with sunflower hearts, choose a window near a tree, hedge or bush, and keep it topped up. Once the first birds find it, others follow.

What seed can I use?

All types: sunflower seeds and hearts, crushed peanuts, suet pellets and mealworms. Seed is not included. The RSPB and BTO now suggest seed and peanuts from November to April, and mealworms or suet pellets through spring and summer. The Arch takes all of them.

How much does it hold?

2 litres of seed, so you refill less often. It measures 20 × 15 × 30 cm and weighs 1.1 kg.

Will birds fly into my window?

Bird-collision researchers advise putting feeders either right by a window or a long way from it. Close up, birds arrive slowly and can’t build up speed. A window feeder sits on the glass.

Is it good for homes without a garden?

Yes. It is ideal for flats and homes without a garden, since it mounts straight onto a window.

How do I clean it?

Take it off the glass, slide the feeding tray out and rinse both with warm soapy water. A bottle brush reaches inside the arch. Let it dry, then refit it.

I’m buying it as a gift. Anything to know?

Countryfile named the Arch its best bird feeder gift. It arrives in its own picture box, so if it’s a surprise, have it delivered to you. Fitting takes two minutes; the steps are on this page and in the box. It’s a favourite for parents and grandparents who love watching birds from their chair.

Can I get spare parts?

Yes. Spares are available for almost every part, including suction units, the lid and the tray. Email hello@roam-wild.com or call us and we’ll sort it.

What if it’s not right for me?

You’re covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. Return any unused item within 30 days for a full refund: email us with your order number and we’ll send return instructions.

Looks lovely, great quality but still waiting for the birds to use it

Jenny Jones · 5/5 stars · Verified buyer · October 2026

still not put it up yet, seems so much more sturdy than original hope it's grip on window will be good as it does seem heavier.

Susan Clegg · 5/5 stars · Verified buyer · October 2026

I am impressed with the Arch window bird feeder. Also very pleased that I could purchase a replacement part for it. The lid had been chewed through by the squirrels.
Otherwise its a very strong and robust design.
Thank you.
I have now bought one towards a Christmas gift for friend.

Danny Hall · 5/5 stars · Verified buyer · October 2026

Cool looking and super well-made. But squirrels were soon over it like a rash, so I need the add-on cage as soon as it is available.

Karen Rukstelis · 5/5 stars · Verified buyer · October 2026

It works! The blue ties queue up impatiently to take their turn and big birds don't get a look in. Perfect nature TV.

I am delighted with this bird feeder. My carer, granddaughter, and visitors also enjoy watching them feed. My carer is such a blessing to me that my last purchase of the bird feeder was for her, and she is delighted with it.

Well built, sturdy and the birds are loving it.

The seeds or nuts do not “flow” down and fill the space left at the bottom as the food is eaten. This appears to be because of the angular design, a more curved shape may have been better?
